    The Manager, Corporate Strategy & Analytics plays a key role in defining and shaping the next wave of innovation and growth at CarMax. This role is a high-impact, cross-functional partner that collaborates with stakeholders across the company to shape our strategic agenda. To be successful in the role, ideal candidates will need to have strong analytical skills and strategic thinking, as well as the curiosity to develop a deep understanding of the industry and its competitive dynamics.

    Essential Responsibilities

    + **Strategic Planning:** Support the development of CarMax’s multi-year corporate strategy to drive company-wide growth, innovation, and continued competitive advantage. Break down complex challenges into actionable strategies that propel broader initiatives.

    + **Competitive Intelligence:** Maintain a strong point of view of the broader auto industry, including competitive dynamics, industry trends, and potential implications of each on CarMax’s strategic direction

    + **Data-Driven Decision Making:** Design and leverage robust analyses to provide insights that will inform recommendations across strategy, operations and investments, anticipating potential questions and challenges.

    + **Cross-Functional Alignment:** Work with stakeholders from across the business, breaking down barriers and fostering collaboration to accelerate momentum toward our corporate goals.

    + **Strong Communications:** Develop compelling storylines to inform executives, cross-functional stakeholders, and internal audiences on results from strategic initiatives as well as overall business performance and what’s going on in the broader industry and competitive landscape

    + **Functional Acceleration** : Conduct and/or facilitate ad hoc research and analyses to support special projects within the Corporate Strategy team or partner teams across Product, Operations, and other functions.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    + To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    + **Experience:** 4+ years of business experience in consulting, strategic analysis, financial analysis, or engineering

    + **Education:** Undergraduate degree in a Business, Engineering, or quantitative discipline with an excellent academic record; MBA or advanced degree a plus but not required

    **Skills** :

    + Demonstrated success in strategic thinking and analytical decision-making

    + Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multipleprojects, and drive results

    + Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at varying levels

    + Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

     

    Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the either the Richmond, VA Home Office, the Dallas, TX Technology Hub or the Atlanta, GA CarMax Auto Finance Office and has a Hybrid work arrangement in office 2 days a week

     

    Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will **not** be considered for this specific role.
