    The salary range for this position is

     

    $33.72 - $43.85 Hourly

     

    $2,697.69 - $3,508.00 Biweekly

     

    $5,845.00 - $7,600.67 Monthly

     

    $70,140.00 - $91,208.04 Annually

     

    The salary range of this advertisement is based on the currently available compensation plan. If an applicant is hired after July 1st this range will be adjusted during the salary analysis portion to reflect the updated compensation plan.

     

    This position facilitates coordination among the FAMLI Division units with regard to appeals. This position coordinates with FAMLI Division units to ensure that the correct individuals participate in hearings and related proceedings. This position also serves as a resource for FAMLI managers and staff as they progress through the appeals process by assisting with legal procedural issues, procedural hearings, subpoenas, discovery requests, and evidentiary issues. This position also serves as the primary point of contact for the Attorney General’s office when representation has been requested.

     

    This position serves as a FAMLI Division point of contact for the Appeals Unit for general questions, process issues, general requests, troubleshooting, working through ad hoc administrative issues, and creative solutions to resolve pending appeals. .

     

    This position creates and maintains a bank of forms necessary for the appeals process.

     

    This position monitors the outcomes of hearings and judicial appeals and updates appropriate FAMLI work units on the impact of significant rulings.

     

    This position appears at hearings in order to observe and/or assist FAMLI Division units.

     

    This position identifies and addresses difficult legal issues by providing additional legal analysis.

     

    This position identifies and addresses issues with FAMLI Division systems and processes that impact appeals.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Experience Only:

    Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position , such as legal experience in a government agency, compliance experience, and/or experience addressing the legal needs of various stakeholders.

    OR

    Education and Experience:

    A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years , such as legal experience in a government agency, compliance experience, and/or experience addressing the legal needs of various stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Juris Doctorate

    + Experience navigating legal compliance across multiple teams

    + Experience analyzing orders from hearing officers , administrative law judges or judges.

    + Performing similar duties as a State of Colorado classified employee

    Required Competencies

    Legal writing, research, interpretation, and analysis; attention to detail; excellent analytical skills; sound judgment and critical thinking; writing and research skills; strong organizational and management skills; effective working independently or with team members; presents well thought out solutions and ideas to facilitate effective appeals; demonstrated ability to engage with staff; strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Workspace.

    Appeal Rights: (Updated)
