    Essential functions (job duties):

    Student Services Manager plans and executes student services programming, events and activities for the College of Engineering, including robust recruitment efforts, strong yield campaigns, active engagement with student organizations, and comprehensive scholarship administration. Directly support the College in meeting its recruitment, enrollment, retention and graduation goals. Create new markets by identifying targeted populations for outreach, recruitment, and advising. Develop, plan, and implement targeted communications and campaigns. This position reports to the Associate Dean, Academic & Student Affairs.

     

    Develop and implement recruitment strategies for the College of Engineering. Design and execute targeted recruitment plans that highlight the unique strengths of the engineering programs. Work closely with academic departments, career services, and alumni relations to create a cohesive support network for students. Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials, manage social mediate campaigns, and participate in college fairs, high school visits, and open house events. Establish partnerships with high schools, community colleges, and industry partners to boost the pipeline of prospective students. Monitor recruitment metrics and trends, using data to adjust strategies and improve recruitment efforts. Participate in long-term planning to continuously enhance student services, ensuring that initiatives align with the college’s strategic goals. Oversee budgets related to student services, ensuring efficient use of resources across all initiatives.

     

    Conduct yield campaigns for the College of Engineering. Develop personalized communication plans (emails, calls, webinars, etc.) for admitted students to maintain engagement and excitement. Organize admitted student days, campus tours, and orientation sessions to enhance the yield rate. Maintain follow-up by implementing tracking systems to monitor admitted student responses and feedback, ensuring a high conversion from admission to enrollment. Collect and analyze feedback from yield events to continuously improve the campaign and student experience. Serve as a point of contact for student concerns, providing guidance and support on academic, financial and social matters.

     

    Oversee and support College of Engineering student organizations. Provide guidance and resources to engineering student organization, ensuring they have the support needed for successful operations. Work collaboratively to facilitate communication among student groups and college administration to align activities with academic goals and professional development.

    Assist and guide in planning and promoting organization-led events, workshops, and networking sessions that benefit the student community. Encourage and help develop leadership opportunities within student organizations, fostering a culture of innovation and involvement.

     

    Manage scholarships and related programming events and activities. Oversee the administration of scholarship programs, including setting criteria, managing applications, and ensuring timely award disbursement. Ensure scholarship programs comply with institutional policies and maintain accurate records for reporting and audit purposes. Develop and implement strategies to promote scholarship opportunities to a broad range of prospective and current students. Regularly assess the effectiveness of the scholarship programs and adjust practices to better support student success.

     

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Education Bachelor's degree

     

    Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited institution in communication, public relations, or related field.

     

    Experience Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-related experience)

     

    Experience required conducting student services activities including planning events, recruitment or advising, or other activities related to serving adult student populations.

Skilled in writing procedures, guidelines and application documentation. Communicate technical and analytical information verbally and in written reports and presentations.

Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work to comply with scheduling constraints, while ensuring a high level of accuracy and reliability. Able to manage multiple projects with strategic efficiency, in compliance with applicable policies and procedures, and in alignment with meeting targeted goals and objectives.

     

    PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to identify and resolve complex problems. Able to compile and analyze numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings. Able to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques for enhancing predictive methods.

     

    BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: Excellent quantitative, analytic and data skills. General knowledge in data collection and analysis techniques. Demonstrates a strong understanding of data sources, database design and maintenance. Able to download, merge, manipulate, analyze and report on large amounts of complex data.

     

    DEPENDABILITY: Ability to produce consistent work, meet established deadlines, and strong attention to detail and follow up skills to each task and assignment.

     

    INTEGRITY: Able to manage and protect confidential information. Understands organizational rules and regulations and demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and consistency.

     

    COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite). Proficiency with database development and maintenance, and with using the Banner software system student module or other student information systems.
