Position Description
Serco is seeking a Program Manager to lead our dynamic c program team in Middletown, Rhode Island. In this role, you will manage projects under the PC-based Open Architecture Reconfigurable Training Systems (PORTS) contracts. The PORTS program develops and delivers simulation-based training systems to prepare U.S. Navy personnel for the operation and deployment of advanced weapons and sensor systems in complex environments. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality training solutions and driving innovation across the program.
In this role, you will:
+ Oversee and manage government contracts, ensuring successful delivery of training systems and enhancements.
+ Lead and manage personnel and oversee product development efforts.
+ Conduct program reviews and report project and budget status to both the customer and Serco leadership.
+ Manage financials to align with customer and company goals.
+ Interface directly with Navy customers to ensure contractual fulfillment per DoD requirements.
+ Identify and resolve project challenges to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction objectives.
+ Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposal development for future projects.
Qualifications
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience; high school diploma with 14 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
+ Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
+ Familiarity with Navy Surface Warfare readiness, Navy systems, or similar operational domains.
+ Strong presentation and communication skills with experience developing and delivering briefings to customers and leadership.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
+ U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
+ Demonstrated leadership in managing software development or hardware/software installation projects.
+ Experience in contract execution within a government setting.
+ Proven ability to lead teams, manage project scope, and deliver on time and budget.
Additional desired experience and skills:
+ Experience with Navy simulation and training systems.
+ Recent experience or affiliation with Surface Warfare Officers School, Surface Warfare Schools Command, Afloat Training Group, or Surface Combat Systems Training Command.
+ Tactical Action Officer (TAO) or Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) qualifications.
+ Prior Surface Navy experience with Aegis, SSDS, or LCS combat systems as a Combat Systems Watchstander.
+ Active Secret clearance.
+ Experience developing proposals for development or sustainment programs.
+ Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 or comparable quality standards.
+ DAWIA Program Management Certification or PMP Certification.
