Position Description

Serco is seeking a Simulation Support Team (SST) Manager to lead technical operations supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In this key leadership position, you will manage the installation, operation, and sustainment of complex training simulation environments that support multi-echelon training exercises. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.

In this role, you will:

+ Oversee coordination of training environment technical support, including networking, exercise design, and simulation systems operations.

+ Lead a technical team in installing, operating, and troubleshooting systems, establishing network configurations, and managing performance metrics.

+ Manage data backup, system recovery, patching, and vulnerability remediation throughout training exercises using the JLCCTC suite.

+ Ensure the MTC can support both large and medium-scale exercises concurrently.

+ Coordinate SST support across Mission Training Complexes and points of training need.

+ Lead a team delivering simulation environments aligned with exercise planning requirements.

+ Interpret and execute exercise plans through hardware/software configuration and network setup.

+ Evaluate system errors and log data to perform diagnostics and corrective actions.

+ Maintain compliance with Information Assurance protocols and ensure system security through proper patching, account management, and STIG adherence.

+ Provide subject matter expertise in systems administration and simulation-based stimulation of military tactical systems.

Qualifications

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in military training/training support, or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience.

+ Experience supporting Brigade-level or higher technical training requirements.

+ Active DoD Secret security clearance.

+ Ability to obtain IAT Level II Certification and fulfill DoD computing environment training within 180 days of hire.

+ Willingness to travel up to 25% and support 24/7 exercise operations as needed.

+ Ability to move equipment up to 50 pounds and access network hardware under desks and in tight spaces.

+ On-site work required at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

+ Proven experience managing military simulation systems and supporting live, virtual, and constructive training environments.

+ Ability to lead technical teams and manage secure networks and systems during time-sensitive training events.

+ Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Additional desired experience and skills:

+ Master’s degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.

+ Experience with distributed and stand-alone simulation environments.

+ Federation Manager experience with HLA and DIS.

+ Previous FA57 or CP36 background.

+ Linux/Windows certifications and experience with RedHat, VMware, and Microsoft Server.

+ Active IAT II or III certification.

+ Familiarity with DoD 8570.01-M and 8140 frameworks.

+ Operational experience with JLCCTC and mass network deployment.
