The Clinical Program Development Specialist, Associate is responsible for inpatient program development and evaluation of treatment strategies for the unit. In addition, this individual takes an active role in behavioral supervision, clinical education and development of the direct care staff skills to provide effective behavioral and cognitive treatment. Reports to the Clinical Program Development Specialist, Senior.
The hire for this role will be supporting the Child and Adolescent Unit at Western Psychiatric Hospital. This is a twenty-two bed unit that treats patients between 3-18 years old focusing on brief assessment and stabilization.
Responsibilities:
Training & Supervision
+ Trains and supervises staff in therapeutic communication and behavioral techniques.
+ Assigns and oversees cases for milieu therapists; provides clinical guidance.
Program Management
+ Develops and updates milieu and behavior management programs.
+ Coordinates training for families and collaborates on policy implementation.
Clinical Services
+ Conducts assessments, creates treatment plans, and ensures follow-through with care teams.
+ Leads individual and group therapies; participates in clinical conferences.
Assessment & Documentation
+ Uses clinical tools to assess psychiatric and behavioral issues.
+ Maintains accurate records and communicates findings to families and professionals.
Collaboration & Communication
+ Works with multidisciplinary teams to improve care and patient satisfaction.
+ Participates in meetings and supports program improvements.
+ Masters Degree in a human services field with a minimum of three years experience
OR
+ Bachelors and 5 years experience in a mental health setting.
+ At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
+ Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting with knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, family, individual and group treatment.
+ Proven leadership skills and an ability to work with patients and their families and to work collaboratively with other staff members specifically demonstrating communication, coordination and organizational skills.
+ Knowledge of evidence-based therapies.
+ Ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Proficiency in basic behavioral principles, development of behavior support plans, and the application of behavioral principles to clinical situations.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
