Job Description
The Financial Accountant I, under general supervision, performs entry level accounting work and a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment. This includes compliance with regulations and policies, to include reconciliation, auditing, preparing and examining financial records, documents or reports.
Position is in-office located on the Tarleton main campus in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Serves as Campus Security Officer (CSA).
Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.
Job Duties:
+ 15% Reconciliation and audit of Banner/Wells Fargo daily banking.
+ 20% Responsible for PCI annual certification process, which includes providing training to departmental staff regarding Self-Assessment Questionnaire completion. Works with IT security to ensure all schedules are complete and entered into the Campus Guard system by due dates. Responsible for compliance of PCI DSS standards, which includes inventory and inspection of machines and PCI training assignments.
+ 25% Provides support for University Departments using TouchNet MarketPlace services for storefront and online credit card payments. Creates store set up to include new products, graphics, streamlined revenue to accounts, and updates products and events within the enterprise as needed.
+ 10% Assists with the processing of multiple Banner workflow processes within the department.
+ 10% Provides exemplary customer service to students, parents, vendors, staff and faculty regarding student accounts.
+ 5% - Processes daily refund checks.
+ 5% Prepares correspondence to solicit social security numbers for 1098-T Tax credit submission.
+ 5% Processes the short-term loan and book loan file up to census dates each semester to load to Banner.
+ 5% Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Knowledge of accounting procedures and reconciliation.
+ Verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Customer service and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Two years of related experience.
+ Accounting experience in a business office preferred.

Commensurate with experience
Salary Range
The target base annual salary range is $44,000 to $55,50.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
