    We have an outstanding Contract to hire position for a Painterto join a leading Company located inLaurel, MD.

     

    Pay Rate: $24.00 - $32.00

     

    Schedule:Mon - Fri 6:00am - 2:30pm

     

    US Citizenship is required.

     

    Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Survey existing coating conditions and recommend methods and techniques to restore to the desired condition.

    + Prepare work site and surfaces for painting, consistent with the materials to be used and in conformance with accepted industry standards and specifications.

    + Select, mix and apply various interior and exterior coatings.

    + Clean up after each job completion, maintain a safe and orderly work area and perform minor painting equipment maintenance as needed.

    + Operate vehicles and industrial equipment to perform these duties.

    Basic Hiring Criteria:

    + 5 or more years painting experience in a commercial/industrial environment.

    + Working knowledge of the various interior and exterior coating systems (latex and epoxy) used in a commercial/industrial facility.

    + Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements related to personal safety and environmental protection.

    + Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted

    + Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and in confined spaces

    + Must be able to work Mon - Fri 6am-2:30pm

    + Ability to set-up and operate tools and equipment associated with the painting trade.

    + Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

    + Capable user of Personal Computers.

    + Possess a valid driver's license. If selected you will be subject to a driving record evaluation.

    + Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

    + Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Are a member in the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) or National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)

    + Possess OSHA or EPA training or certification
