Job Summary

As Cloud Engineer III, you will work some of the smartest minds in the industry to build Cloud foundations at scale. You will enable other parts of the organization to build solutions for customers. You will work with Architects, Security experts and software engineers to translate requirements into components and APIs that can operate at scale. You will create reusable cloud components with Walgreens standards while providing best developer experience. You will enable AI/ML solution and drive conscious adoption in the cloud. You will coach other members and leaders in the organization about cloud and its features to help them adopt and accelerate new product development.

Job Responsibilities

+ Develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms. Assists in the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy

+ Incorporates security management and privacy requirements into cloud hardware, software, and applications. Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the organization.

+ Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools.

+ Maintains up to date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology.

+ Plans, builds, supports, and maintains the organization's public and private cloud infrastructure

+ Designs, implements, and modifies department’s applications and infrastructure in private and public clouds to meet business requirements, including implementing geographically redundant services where appropriate

+ Builds, manages, and secures cloud environments in accordance with WBA security standards

+ Maintains cloud networking configurations, including routing, load balancing, and firewalls

+ Use Platform as a Service solutions when appropriate

+ Monitors systems and applications for performance and uptime and makes configuration changes to achieve service level targets

+ Automates routine tasks across systems and applications, uses version control systems to store scripts and configurations, uses build automation and deployment systems in the Cloud

+ Maintains software security and data protection per WBA standards

+ Secures servers using industry standard security practices adopted for use in the department

+ Does all Infrastructure as code with focus on Developer productivity, and security configurations as appropriate for systems and applications, including Kubernetes, Databricks, Load Balancers

+ Maintains day to day operations and security updates of systems and applications

External Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree or at least 2 years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics OR High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics.

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics

+ Experience identifying the relationship of bugs to software code.

+ Experience in building in Azure using ARM templates and ADO pipelines while complying with static code analysis tools like Sonarcube and security scanners like Nessus.

+ Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps

+ Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience scripting and automation via AZ CLI/PowerShell, Bash, Bicep, JSON templates etc.

+ Deep experience in building Kubernetes environment in Azure. Kube in hybrid/multi cloud environment is a moderate plus.

+ Experience developing design specifications, test plans and protocols

+ Experience building Linux servers at scale. Enabling DevOps in IaaS is a plus.

+ Experience in multiple programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby on rails etc. along with NoSQL, SQL technologies

+ Knowledge of basic Technologies such as Firewalls, Load balancing, REST API, MPLS, Databases etc.

+ Knowledge of basic Technology concepts Routing, Backups, NAT, Business continuity or Disaster recovery, Multi AZ/ multi region architecture

+ At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.

+ Willing to travel upto at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics

+ Experience with Azure (must have) and AWS configuration, setup and scripting.

+ Experience with deployment release pipelines setup and troubleshooting, CI/CD, scripting JSON and other scripting languages, Azure artifacts, Kubernetes, AppInsight, Redis, App services, Service plans preferred

+ Experience with networking, subnets, and routing setup aspects in cloud.
