    Job Summary: The Manager, Nutrition & Environmental Services (Vinita) oversees all food service, housekeeping, and laundry operations within the Vinita location to maintain a clean environment for patients, customers, and employees. This role creates and maintains budgetary requirements and drives improvement opportunities in the delivery of nutritional health for patients and retail customers.

     

    Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Ten years of job-related experience, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree may be considered.

     

    Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Oklahoma Food Handlers Card. Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a current Dietitian License with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, preferred.

     

    Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience, preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated interpersonal skills that allow for effective, independent communications. Effective written and oral communication skills. Computer skills including Microsoft Office and other applicable applications. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations. Shown ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely and efficient manner. Proven ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

     

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Organizes and manages all activities of assigned departments. Ensures that policies, procedures, and standards for the departments are in compliance with regulatory agencies and applicable federal and state laws. Plans and monitors menus and levels of satisfaction for optimal delivery of nutritional care. Evaluates and schedules cleaning and sanitation processes to be thorough and efficient. Purchases all food and food-related supplies for patient and retail meal areas; purchases all cleaning supplies and equipment for environmental services needs. Creates and implements department budget for area of responsibility, utilizing cost effective practices and revenue generating programs. Manages point of sale (POS) system for the food service retail area. Provides customer-oriented service by utilizing leadership skills and knowledge of food management, environmental services, and hospitality. Handles supply requisition activities, equipment maintenance needs, and other maintenance requests for all shifts. Interviews and selects qualified personnel, oversees training and development; maintains employee schedules and payroll, and documents and evaluates performance of employees.

     

    Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.

     

    Working Relationships: Direct Supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
