    Job Description Summary

    The Product Validation Test Enabling Systems Leader will be responsible for the design, project management, fabrication and delivery of all test facilities & infrastructure, auxiliary engine test hardware, and auxiliary rig test hardware design. Test Enabling Systems will direct the efforts of Test Enabling Hardware & Facilities, and Development Machining Operations (DMO) teams.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Direct/execute test enabling hardware, test infrastructure, development machining operations tasks on assigned projects.

    + Collaborate with project/program team on current and future work scope to ensure mission timelines meet short- and long-term business objectives.

    + Create and maintain a safe working environment. Ensuring the safety and welfare of all personnel.

    + Lead continuous improvement initiatives specifically on technology roadmaps, facility upgrades and adding of test/manufacturing capabilities.

    + Manage a team of senior professionals as well as 60+ nonexempt personnel to support 24/7/365 operations.

    + Collaborate with Product Validation team on current and future work scope to ensure mission timelines meet short- and long-term business objectives.

    + Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel.

    + Effectively communicate operational and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organization

    + Place a strong focus on employee and union relations and take proactive measures to promote growth, technical development, and enhanced interpersonal skills.

    + Overseeing the deployment and integration of FLIGHT DECK’s ten core fundamentals ensuring a standard approach across responsible functions.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university

    + 8 years of technical leadership experience

    + Ability to travel up to 25%

    Desired Characteristics:

    + Engineering master's degree

    + Prior mechanical structures, rotating hardware, bearing systems, fluid systems, electrical systems, civil/structural building design, union relations, EHS, and EPA experience

    + Familiarity with Test, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sourcing processes

    + Previous section/department leadership experience

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

    + Lean and or Six Sigma experience

    + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and proven ability to inspire excellence and stimulate change.

    + Work collaboratively across product lines and across disciplines and organizations.

    + Prior experience with a focus on managing technical programs and designing and developing new products related to solving product issues.

    + Clear, strategic, and critical thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans

    In addition, you will:

    Maintain a safe working environment throughout all Product Validation. Partner with site EHS in all metrics and meet site and organization safety goals.

     

    Shape and drive culture including safety mindset … understanding of potential hazards as well as defenses in place to mitigate risks

     

    _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
