The position of Marsha M. Linehan Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Clinic Associate Director (MML Associate Director) serves both the service and training missions of the MML DBT clinic and manages administrative tasks and projects as required for the successful functioning of our clinic. The part-time MML Associate Director provides direct clinical service to members of the community as well as supervision to University of Washington clinical psychology graduate students in the delivery of adherent DBT within a comprehensive DBT program.
POSITION PURPOSE
The position of Marsha M. Linehan Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Clinic Associate Director (MML Associate Director) serves both the service and training missions of the MML DBT clinic and manages administrative tasks and projects as required for the successful functioning of our clinic. The part-time MML Associate Director provides direct clinical service to members of the community as well as supervision to University of Washington clinical psychology graduate students in the delivery of adherent DBT within a comprehensive DBT program.
Position Complexities/Features
This position entails certain responsibilities that demand strong interpersonal skills and knowledge specific to DBT. It requires a unique combination of training and experience in the delivery of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as experience supervising and training advanced psychology graduate students. The MML Clinic Associate Director is expected to keep up to date on the latest research in the field and apply this information to implementation of clinical service, graduate student training, and MML Clinic policies/procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Provide supervision and training of clinical psychology graduate students including support with crisis management, student and supervisor case consultation and participation in education activities related to graduate student training. There are also opportunities for mentoring doctoral student research and graduate teaching. In this salaried position, the MML clinic Associate Director will focus on training advanced level graduate students. The Associate Director will also support the director in creating learning materials for the graduate trainees, volunteer supervisors, and therapists in the community.
+ Provide direct service and assessment of adults and adolescents. This will include intervention services and diagnostic evaluations as time and interest allow.
+ Manage administrative tasks (e.g., aligning policies and procedures with current evidence on the treatment; supervisor onboarding, and managing training resources) and work on projects (e.g., co-develop and manage community education events) necessary for successful MML Clinic operations as needed and time allows. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ PhD in Clinical Psychology
+ One year of post-doctoral clinical experience. Licensed or license eligible within 6 months in the state of Washington. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Training and experience in delivery of Dialectical Behavior Therapy
+ Administration and management skills
+ Supervising/training advanced psychology graduate students
+ Public relations and community education
