Job Description:
This role is primarily responsible for Indirect tax compliance (sales/use tax & property tax), but will also support Income Tax (Direct), including related monthly/quarterly journal entries, income tax return compliance and other reports and analyses used by management.
-Responsible for Sales & Use tax compliance process:
-Export/review/format general ledger data.
-Review capital projects to determine taxability.
-Preparation/filing of returns and tax payments.
-Preparation of monthly journal entries.
-Monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
-Assist Personal/Real Property tax compliance:
-Export/review/format general ledger fixed asset detail.
-Prepare & manage timely online filing of annual renditions/returns.
-Communicate with local jurisdictions related to abatements.
-Handle tax invoice payments/jurisdictional correspondence.
-Assist in maintaining Fixed Assets for Federal tax purposes:
-Review book SAP disposals and identify/dispose in SAGE.
-Reconcile disposals to SAP, including proceeds & gain/loss.
-Assist Federal & State income tax return preparation:
-Provide various general ledger support.
-Prepare sales/property detail for state apportionment purposes.
-Lead/assist in State Sales/Local property tax audits & support Federal/State Income tax audits.
-Perform tax research/preparation of tax memorandums, as required.
-Tax notice resolution for various Federal, State & Local tax jurisdictions.
-Maintain/organize network files for sales/use and property tax returns.
-Complete tax and business informational requests (SOS Annual Reports).
-Responsible for various US Census Bureau monthly/quarterly/annual requests.
-Prepare/review various reports and analyses for internal use by management and external use by taxing authorities.
-Identify/implement areas for tax process automation/improvement.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting / Finance or equivalent experience.
-CPA/EA a plus'
Experience Required:
3+ years’ experience in related tax/finance functions or- 3+ years’ experience Indirect Tax (Sales/Use and or Property)- Manufacturing & SAP/large ERP system experience a plus.

-
