The Walmart/VIZIO Team operates at the intersection of data and technology, dedicated to delivering robust data solutions that enhance business operations and customer experiences. This role is pivotal in aligning our data strategy with business objectives, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our data platforms.
What You’ll Do
+ **Lead and mentor** a team of data engineers.
+ **Architect and maintain** scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms.
+ **Collaborate** with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions.
+ **Drive best practices** in data modeling, quality, governance, and observability.
+ **Oversee implementation** of batch and real-time data processing frameworks.
+ **Optimize cloud-based** data infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
+ **Set technical direction** and contribute to hands-on development as needed.
What You’ll Bring
+ 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
+ Expertise in data architecture, ETL/ELT, and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
+ Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Scala.
+ Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt) and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
+ Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and security best practices.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming).
+ Prior experience in a high-scale, data-rich environment.
+ Knowledge of ML pipelines and MLOps workflows.

The annual salary range for this position is $121,000.00-$242,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
