Position Overview
Shaw Industries is seeking a motivated individual for a Project Engineer role at Shaw Plant WD. Under the supervision of the Plant Engineer, this position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day management of the Maintenance department as well as collecting design criteria, developing budgets, schedules, specifications, and utilizing project management tools to ensure projects meet all safety, quality, performance, and budget requirements for capital and expense projects. Work is often multi-disciplined and requires close coordination with manufacturing management, maintenance personnel, and outside contractors.

Responsibilities:
+ Demonstrate a passion for safety, environmental compliance, and manufacturing excellence.
+ Complete equipment modifications, expense projects, and capital improvement projects to improve safety, product quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.
+ Troubleshoot equipment and system problems, identifying and correcting root causes.
+ Collaborate with Plant Engineer and plant management to develop the facilities capital plan.
+ Participate in the development and achievement of the department’s goals.
+ Perform all aspects of proper project management, including thorough scoping of work, design, cost estimation, scheduling, bid development, procurement, management of contractors, communication between departments, installation, construction, debugging, commissioning, and project documentation.
+ Support plant maintenance activities through coordination of work order completion.
+ Provide support to departments concerning project development, job quotes, project management training, etc.
+ Provide leadership to the maintenance team and any OMTs or co-ops assigned to the department, including skills development and on-the-job training.
+ Supervise & schedule the Project Crew.
+ Assist in maintaining critical safety and environmental audits, testing, inspections, and any other required maintenance records.
+ Provide technical support for operational issues within the facility.
+ Fill in for Plant Engineer as necessary.
+ Work nights, weekends, holidays, and call-ins as needed.

Position Requirements:
+ Four year degree (Engineering or Related field preferred)
+ Knowledge of TPM and Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
+ Strong organizational and computer skills
+ Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS365 Office Suite
+ AutoCad or Solid Works ability preferred
