    Job Summary

    Responsible for managing procurement activities for Novant Health Pharmacy. Manager of Procurement and Inventory manages activities which include drug shortages, recalls, distribution of medications across the system, collaboration across system departments such as Supply Chain, and formulary support of medications. In addition, has oversight for controlling medication inventories within the pharmacy and within the ADMs in collaboration with the automation team and finance.

     

    Manager of Procurement and Inventory assures compliance with state and federal programs, and any required documentation. Programs include but are not limited to Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), recall documentation, board of pharmacy rules and FDA and DEA regulations. The Manager of Procurement and Inventory will also partner with compliance services on execution and compliance within the 340(b) Drug Program (Drug Pricing Program enabling health care organizations that care for underserved people to purchase outpatient drugs at discounted prices) for all qualified entities within the organization. Such management and coordination includes assuring qualifications for the program are met and maintained; the program is fully implemented in all areas of qualified use; related records are complete and accurate; and that it meets all primary objectives as defined by leadership.     Qualifications

    + Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree or Pharm D required for this role. Graduate Degree, preferred.

    + Experience: Minimum of five years related work experience, including supervision, required. Experience in healthcare finance, preferred .

    + Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice pharmacy in the applicable state(s) and in good standing with the state board of Pharmacy(ies), required.

    + Understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes.

    + Implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes.

    + Decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills.

    + Concepts of change management.

    + Ability to apply process improvement methods to assure quality.

    + Provide notice to management should conflicting cultural values, ethics or religious beliefs potentially impact patient care
