**Overview of the Position Responsibilities:** A Security Engineer designs, implements, and maintains security measures to protect our master data set and systems from cyber threats, including identifying vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents.
What You Will Do:
Building Security Awareness:
o Influence the development of the form, structure, and attributes of Bluepeak’s security program that
protects Bluepeak data, and systems.
o Influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
o Other related duties as assigned.
Security Design and Implementation:
o Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls.
o Design and implement secure network solutions.
o Configure and maintain security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention
systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
o Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Management:
o Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems
and networks.
o Analyze security threats and risks and develop mitigation strategies.
o Assess the effectiveness of existing security measures.
Incident Response:
o Monitor systems and networks for security incidents and breaches.
o Investigate security incidents and determine the root cause.
o Develop and implement incident response plans.
o Respond to security incidents and coordinate with other teams to contain and resolve them.
Collaboration:
o Work with the larger Bluepeak Engineering Team to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the
organization's technology infrastructure.
o Collaborate with other security professionals to share knowledge and best practices.
Stay Technically Current:
o Stay informed about the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
o Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and security techniques.
What You Will Need:
Technical Skills:
o Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and security technologies.
o Proficiency in security tools and technologies.
o Familiarity with security standards and regulations.
o Knowledge of scripting and automation languages.
Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Effective Time management with the ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
o Strong verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and
effectively.
Education/Experience:
o A bachelor’s degree in computer science or cybersecurity or related field required.
o 5+ years in an analytical position required.
Computer Skills:
o MS Office Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneNote.
o Familiarity with data collection software and protocols.
o Data analysis and systems integration experience required.
o Knowledge in Technology such as API management and Data Reporting is preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
o Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
o Regularly required to talk and hear
o Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull and walk
o Required to use hands, handle objects and paperwork
o Required to use close vision and be able to focus
o Required to refrain from personal use of technology during working hours
o Required to lift up to 5lbs at a given time
