The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, lobbyist, thought partner, and all-around advisor. We’re looking for an experienced, multidimensional litigator to join our Litigation & Regulatory Team! This position will report to our Associate General Counsel, Government Litigation.

What you’ll do:

+ Join and contribute to a talented and collaborative team of litigators as well as cross-functional partners

+ Be an active and strategic part of a team managing a diverse range of matters within Snap’s complex litigation docket across multiple jurisdictions, partnering with outside counsel to manage cutting-edge cases, overseeing substantive work and making key strategic decisions

+ Support many of Snap’s responses to requests for information, subpoenas, and other outreach from across the globe, working cross-functionally to gather the vital information to respond.

+ Partner closely with our Global Policy team to help them analyze draft legislation and regulations, strategize about regulatory developments, and generally peer around corners to help Snap stay ahead of the game.

+ Be comfortable working with a wide array of regulators, potentially including everything from privacy regulators to communications regulators to antitrust regulators to legislative bodies

+ Provide counsel to business teams to help identify pitfalls from a litigation and regulatory perspective and head them off at the get-go

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Wide-ranging litigation experience (e.g., brief-writing, legal strategy, discovery, deposition and trial preparation, expert witnesses)

+ Experience handling significant aspects of complex legal matters, including meaningfully contributing to strategic decisions

+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

+ Facility with eDiscovery, including managing voluminous document productions in a cost-effective manner

+ Ability to collaborate well with colleagues within and outside of the direct team

+ Strong organizational and case management skills

+ Sound judgment on legal and business issues

+ Self-starter who is able to recognize and set priorities independently

+ Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment

Minimum qualifications:

+ J.D. degree from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials

+ Active membership in at least one state bar, or licensed to practice law in the UK for a US-based company

+ 6+ years of legal experience in litigation and regulatory matters

Preferred qualifications:

+ Complex litigation experience in private practice

+ Federal and/or state government litigation experience is a plus

+ In-house experience is a plus

+ Trial experience is a plus

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this position is $209,000-$313,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $199,000-$297,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $178,000-$266,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
