Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Packaging Lead position is responsible to ensure all KPI goals are being met in their shift of responsibility (Safety, Quality, OEE, Pounds per hour, DME). This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Ensures regulatory Compliance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads are responsible to conduct (in supervisors absent) or participate in pre-shift meetings. Talking points would be safety toolboxes, quality issues from previous day, and review production for the day in hand. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Responsible for pre-ops on all lines and equipment and during shift. Lead needs to ensure all components are running properly and efficiently. Understand operations schedule, communicate the same, and organize employees to complete production needs. Monitor inventory of all gases used in production and ensure that the same satisfies quality requirements. Monitor door foamers to ensure they are working properly and at concentration. Continuously monitor equipment performance and complete logs/checklists. Input information into computer system and report inventory levels to Inventory Analyst. Adjusts or conducts minor repairs to machines of any minor deficiencies if possible. Troubleshoot equipment failures and communicate with maintenance department as needed. Must have basic knowledge of SAP and able to release/ print daily process orders. Must have basic knowledge of label-view software and print Labels needed for production. Operation knowledge of all equipment utilized in the shift. Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift. Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions (work environment and equipment) and ensure that product integrity is intact. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Basic computer skills. Must have team management and leadership skills. Must be able to stand for most of shift. Must be detail oriented. Must be well organized, able to plan and prioritize activities, and make decisions related to product quality. Ability to complete multiple tasks in a time-constrained environment. At least 3 years in leadership position. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. customary and weight measurements, volume and distance. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Power Industrial Operator’s License Ability to communicate effectively.
