    Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Engineering Manager - ETO Electrical Assemblies. This role is based at our Sumter, SC manufacturing facility. Relocation and Sponsorship is available to candidates currently residing in the USA.

     

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

    As a member of the site Senior Leadership Team, the Engineering Manager – ETO Electrical Assemblies leads the electrical & mechanical customer order engineering function for the Sumter Switchboard and Panelboard manufacturing campus. This role provides strategic leadership and direction, driving continuous improvement and performance excellence in translating customer requirements into approval drawings. It ensures seamless integration of electrical components, including circuit breakers, wiring, power flow systems, mechanical design, 3D bus bar configurations, fabrication prints, and the overall design of Switchboards and Panelboards—aligning customer needs with manufacturing capabilities.

     

    Additionally, this position establishes and implements processes to uphold safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and customer expectations. It also spearheads the strategic vision for adopting the latest innovations and tools, accelerating automation, enhancing engineering capabilities, and optimizing the execution of advanced design processes.

    What you’ll do:

    + Lead the planning and execution of the Panelboard and Switchboard customer engineering process, including electrical & mechanical design and BOM creation

    + Identify, support, and deploy continuous improvement initiatives to improve engineering quality, delivery, productivity, automation, and capability

    + Provide responsive and customer focused engineered solutions, while ensuring internal customers, materials, and manufacturing are supported with high quality of work and rapid responsiveness to issues

    + Lead SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) for engineering to ensure engineering demands are understood and labor capacity is in place to achieve the schedule and mix

    + Lead a team of 5 engineering leaders with both direct on-site engineering talent and CoE engineering support resources; over 50 engineers and techs in total

    + Focus on talent development, succession, and capability of the engineering teams

    + Lead, coach, and facilitate teams and stakeholders through Continuous Improvement and problem-solving processes to drive on-going improvements in performance

    + Foster a culture that promotes the Eaton Quality System, Inclusion & Diversity, and the Eaton Leadership Model

    + Partner with team and upstream processes to ensure on-going quality of work, team effectiveness, collaboration, and strategy deployment

    Qualifications:

    Basic (required) Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution

    + Five (5) years of experience managing people and/or project teams in a manufacturing environment

    + Three (3) years of experience supporting engineered-to-order electrical assemblies and/or panelboards and switchboards

    + Must be currently residing in United States to qualify for relocation or sponsorship

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution

    + Three (3) years of experience supporting panelboards and switchboards engineering

    + Continuous improvement certifications including six sigma, lean, and related toolsets

    + Experience managing leaders of people

    + Experience with engineering design tools such as CAD, Inventor, and/or engineering configuration tools

    Skills:

    + Leadership experience in a fast-paced & complex ETO environment

    + Change agent with strategic focus ability to deploy the latest practices and tools within an organization

    + Bias towards root cause analysis and driving process improvements

    + Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to drive effective performance, alignment, and planning across a complex team and organization

    + Technical and application expertise of Panelboards & Switchboards products and processes
