The railcar unloader is responsible for duties that involve unloading bulk containers of raw materials and ensuring safe deposit into the silo. Locates and moves railcars as necessary so that unloading can occur in the desired order for delivery of product. Properly prepares each rail car and ensures that connections are performed correctly. Assures that inventory is stored in a clean, efficient manner. Verifies the flow path of the raw material by a visual check. Checks appearance of the product for inconstancies. Other duties include housekeeping and sanitation of the railcar unloading area, dumping regrind and overall maintenance of the ingredient area in an orderly manner. Activities are performed at a rapid pace and require contact with fellow workers and drivers. The railcar unloader role will require collaboration skills with other departments to help maintain the highest level of sanitation and food safety readiness as well as adherence to the strictest standards of health, safety, and hygiene.

**Schedule:** 12 hour - 2,2,3 schedule

**Salary, based on experience and other qualifications:** $23.00 ( Per Hour) with additional bonus potential
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Unloads bulk material from railcars and ensures safe transfer of product into silo.
2. Prepares railcar unloading area for safe and sanitary transfer of product.
3. Attach pressurizing hoses and unloading hoses to the railcar.
4. Monitors flow of product from railcar to silo.
5. Regulates/adjusts flow of product from railcar to silo as needed.
6. Utilizes railcar mover pull the railcar into the railcar building.
7. Loosens/adjusts valves and opens hatches, including top hatches on the railcar.
8. Ensures compliance with all food safety policies and procedures. Ensures railcar unloading area is always in proper sanitary condition.
9. Evaluates product conditions visually and checks for inconsistencies and reports such when identified.
10. Immediately reports product inconsistencies.
11. Completes cleaning assignments as required in railcar unloading area.
12. Maintains the ingredient area in an orderly manner.
13. Completes all paperwork and checklists as required.
14. Ability to work from, or on railcar and other equipment at heights.
15. Ability to competently operate motorized and static equipment used in the cleaning task(s) (i.e. scissors lift, boom lift, scaffolding, etc.).
16. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, with a maximum distance required to carry 50 pounds of 100 feet at least 75% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms and walk up to 2/3 of the time; Sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel 2/3 of the time; talk or hear 100% of the time.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Can perform all above tasks in an environment of 90 degrees F or greater up to 90% of the time.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
