+ Weekends: Saturday & Sunday 1st shift

About the Job
In this role the Breast Imaging - Ultrasound Technical Specialist, in collaboration with the Radiology Leadership, including Physician Leader(s), functions as the technical **"subject matter expert".** **This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for the region. The Ultrasound Modality Technical Specialist acts as the chief educator/super trainer for all staff, Clinical Instructor, Scanner Accreditations, oversees all Safety protocols and all research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff.** In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying modality specific techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information.
Here is what you'll need
Required:
+ Associate Degree; graduate from an accredited two-year Ultrasound Program, required; OR equivalent training acquired via work experience
+ **Specific Degree(s):** Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology
+ 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
+ May require on-call, weekend, holiday and emergency coverage as department needs warrant.
+ Requires travelling to offsite locations as needed
+ **Preferred:** Industry work experience as Ultrasound Application Specialist with a major medical equipment vendor.
Licensure/Certifications
Required:
+ CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association ONLY
+ Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
+ **Other** : Registration in a minimum of three specialties by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required. Two of the registrations must be in the specialties of Abdomen and Obstetrics & Gynecology. The third registration must be in one of the following specialties: Neurosonography, Vascular Technology, Musculoskeletal, or Breast.

+ Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.
+ Demonstrates proficient to expert knowledge of Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, techniques, procedures, and inventory
+ Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance to exemplify the profession and represent the department
+ Must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to change and anticipate interruption

Pay Range: $40- 59 per hour
