The Department of East Asian Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Virginia invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position on the general faculty in Chinese language. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester, contributing to the development of the Chinese language program, and active involvement in departmental service. Courses may include Elementary and Intermediate Chinese, as well as more advanced levels.
Applicants must have at least a master’s level degree in a relevant field of study, such as Chinese Studies, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, Chinese literature and Cultures, or other closely related fields. Candidates must have experience in Chinese language teaching at any level. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Chinese.
