Tax Manager

Salary: $150-175K depending on experience. Bonus and stock options.
Ideally, our client would like to structure this opportunity as contract-to-hire, but is open to discussion. Immediate availability is required.
Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support our client’s tax function. This is a fully remote opportunity for a seasoned tax professional with deep expertise in tax provision, SOX controls, and income tax compliance. The ideal candidate will lead and develop the company’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance and efficiency across all tax-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
+ Oversee and enhance SOX controls related to tax processes.
+ Manage federal and state income tax compliance, including provision-to-return reconciliations.
+ Drive the company’s tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
+ Coordinate and manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
+ Provide strategic input on tax planning initiatives to optimize tax positions.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, and external advisors.
+ Mentor and develop junior tax team members.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
+ 10+ years of income tax experience in public accounting and/or a large global corporation.
+ Strong expertise in tax accounting, compliance, and SOX controls.
+ Experience with CorpTax and/or SAP is a plus, but not required.
+ CPA designation is preferred, but not mandatory.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
