Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Promptly answers all incoming calls and assists in placing out-going calls. *

1. Responds to code phone, code computer or wall panel alarms which takes priority over any calls except the fire alarm and making sure that appropriate personnel are notified.*

1. Monitors fire panel alarms, wall alarms, code phone and code computer where applicable, contacting the fire department and other appropriate personnel when needed.*

1. Pages on web based paging system and switchboard for authorized personnel, physicians and emergency calls.*

1. Places long distance calls for various departments and doctors' offices.

1. Assists patients by advising how to place local and long distance calls.*

1. Answers patient information calls whenever necessary.

1. Documents vital information to assist supervisor in maintaining current files with the daily PBX operations.*

1. Overhead page appropriate personnel as needed.

1. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

Required -2 years switchboard experience.

Preferred -Experience operator with at least 5 years of experience.

EDUCATION

Required -High school graduate.

Preferred -Graduate with previous switchboard experience. Medical terminology a plus.
