Join Amazon's Devices & Services Privacy Engineering organization as a Software Development Manager. In this role, you'll lead a team of engineers dedicated to safeguarding data for hundreds of millions of customers who use Amazon's devices and services, including Alexa, Ring, Fire TV, and other innovative Amazon products.

As a Software Development Manager, you'll guide your team in processing billions of daily customer interactions, implementing AI/ML-driven privacy controls, and building privacy-enhancing technologies that operate at massive scale. You'll collaborate with privacy experts, product teams, and senior technical leaders to drive complex engineering initiatives that directly impact how customers interact with their Amazon devices while maintaining strict privacy standards.

Key job responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of software engineers focused on privacy engineering solutions
* Drive technical strategy and roadmap planning for privacy initiatives that span multiple Amazon device products
* Set the technical direction for privacy architecture in large-scale systems
* Partner with product, legal, and compliance teams to translate privacy requirements into actionable engineering solutions
* Mentor and grow engineering talent, while building a strong team culture focused on privacy innovation
* Manage the full development lifecycle of privacy features from conception to delivery
* Represent the privacy engineering organization in cross-functional leadership forums
* Drive hiring and team expansion to support growing privacy engineering needs
* Establish metrics and operational excellence practices for measuring privacy outcomes

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
