Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an **Experienced Technical Designer (Level 3)** to join our Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina (IRC) Team and 787 Interiors Program Team that are based in North Charleston, SC.
As a Technical Designer, you will have the opportunity to manage systems associated with interior commodities on the 787. The statement of work spans the product lifecycle: customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validation and verification of design requirements, integration of the design, production support, demonstrating compliance, and supporting the airplane certification processes.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Develops and maintains engineering product definition.
+ Prepares design layouts and modifies existing designs.
+ Develops engineering product definition.
+ Develops statements of work, including design requirements, cost and schedule estimates.
+ Coordinates and develops work transfer packages.
+ Contributes to the integration of product definition across internal and external business partners to provide a functional end-product.
+ Investigates and resolves moderately-complex manufacturing process, or engineering related issues.
+ Verifies accuracy of engineering data produced by others.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
+ Associate’s degree.
+ 3+ years of experience in product definition, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
+ Experience with 3-D modeling (CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, 3DX, etc.)
+ Knowledge of design, production, assembly and validation processes.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
+ Associate’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
+ Experience with the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM).
+ Proficiency in CATIA V5.
+ Experience using product lifecycle management software (Enovia, Team Center, etc.)
+ Experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent including designing to requirements and showing of compliance.
+ Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences and leadership levels.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range : $63,750 - $86,250
