Description
We are looking for a skilled Human Resources Compliance Specialist to join our team and the ideal candidate will have strong employee relations experience. In this role, you will ensure that our organization adheres to employment laws and regulations across all operational states (12 total) while fostering a culture of compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to HR processes and policies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and legal standards. The role is based in the mid-Wilshire area, and you will enjoy a hybrid schedule, 3 days a week on-site. You will have one HR Generalist report into you.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and analyze changes in employment legislation across multiple states to ensure organizational compliance.
• Conduct regular audits of timesheets, payroll, HR documentation, and company policies to identify and address potential compliance risks.
• Collaborate with Learning and Development teams to design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and managers.
• Handle employee relations matters, including workplace investigations and workers’ compensation cases, as needed.
• Research and ensure compliance when expanding operations into new states, providing recommendations to leadership.
• Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and salary benchmarks to enhance internal HR strategies.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for senior leadership and regulatory authorities to ensure transparency.
• Develop and implement processes to enforce compliance with HR policies, addressing any gaps or violations effectively.
• Audit labor law compliance across all operational states, ensuring adherence to wage and hour regulations.
• Partner with other departments, including legal, to maintain a robust compliance framework across the organization.
Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in compliance, human resources, litigation, or related legal fields.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve compliance issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in compliance activities and documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
• Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR) or equivalent experience is highly preferred. TalentMatch®
