    Overview

     

    Kemin is seeking a Customer Laboratory Services Associate to join our Animal Nutrition and Health team. This position will provide routine laboratory support to Sales, Marketing and Research and Development, primarily through chemical analysis of customer samples. The position also requires participation in the development and execution of protocols for Applied Research projects to demonstrate efficacy of products in customer applications.

     

    The ideal candidate will have a undergraduate degree in a science related field, ideally chemistry or biochemistry, and be proficient with traditional wet chemistry and instrumental analysis techniques (HPLC, GC, OSI).

    Responsibilities

    + Responsible for performing routine problem solving, preliminary data analysis and accurately checking large amounts of data.

    + Follow all assigned SOPs, assist in SOP development, and test protocols without assistance.

    + Assist with method development, method validation, and formulation, as applicable.

    + Create and/or prepare product samples, as applicable.

    + Generate accurate data consistently.

    + Assist in report writing, as needed.

    + Must be able to operate basic and intermediate lab equipment without assistance.

    + Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on assigned lab equipment.

    + Follow good laboratory and safety practices.

    Qualifications

    + Education and Experience:

    + Bachelors degree in a science related field, preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry, with 0+ years of related experience OR

    + Associates Degree in a science related field with 3+ years of related experience

    + Proficient with traditional wet chemistry and instrumental analysis techniques including HPLC, GC, and OSI.

    + Good communication skills (written and oral).

    + Strong analytical skills.

    + Basic descriptive statistics.

    + Basic computer and MS Office knowledge and experience. Intermediate skills with Excel including ability to use simple formulas and generate graphs.

    + Good laboratory skills.

    + Must be a team player.

    + Must be able to see.

    + Detail-oriented and ability to multitask.

    A post-offer background check and drug screen is required. Additional pre-employment requirements may be necessary based on position.
