    Summary:

    TheSafety Training and Education Administratoris responsible for ensuring sustainability in the educational curriculum, accuracy in the content, and accountability in the process. This position will focus efforts on safety and compliance to keep driver behavior within established company goals and expectations and will encourage safe CMV operation through training of correct techniques, providing guidance to comply with the FMCSR and assuring drivers meet ATS safety standards. The position will provide educational systems to develop team member skills to reduce crash frequency and severity, lower liability claims costs and maintain acceptable BASIC category scores under the CSA system.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    + 2- or 4-year degree in related field and 2-4 years of experience in driver training/facilitation or an equivalent experience.

    + Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred

    + Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation compliance regulations.

    + Experience safely driving a tractor-trailer and securing loads. A current or past CDL is preferred for knowledge and experiential insight.

    + Creative mind and talent to create training modules, power points and videos.

    + Demonstrated presentation skills to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from large groups.

    + Ability to stay organized and prioritize work as well as adjust as changes and needs occur.

    + Ability to analyze situations and come to reasonable solutions.

    + Must be detail oriented and yet see the big picture.

    + Ability to deal with stressful situations and remain calm.

    + Must have the ability to learn and understand all in-truck safety technologies.

    + Ability to deal with confidential information in a discrete and diplomatic manner.

    + Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

    + Excellent communication skills (written, listening, and verbal).

    + Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Work with the Operations leaders to identify training requirements.

    + Facilitate driver training in the safe operation of tractor equipment, securement and loading skills, and FMSCA regulations and policies.

    + Administer and manage the Learning Management System (LMS) in use at ATS. Monitor system use, compliance and accountability.

    + Produce training materials to meet the needs of the operating teams according to FMCSA regulations.

    + Build training content according to method of delivery and manage the content.

    + Develop and maintain scheduled reoccurring training curriculum for all operational and safety sensitive positions.

    + Develop learning paths in the LMS system to address training needs for specific companies, drivers, and managers such as new hire onboarding, and specific technical training that may be needed.

    + Consult, educate & train OPS Managers and Fleet Managers to make safety decisions regarding risk modeled behaviors and set corrective action to modifyhigh riskbehaviors.

    + Coach Fleet Managers how to effectively communicate with drivers regarding safety issues and concerns.

    + Resolve issues utilizing proactive conflict resolution techniques with both contractors, drivers, and corporate personnel.

    + Support Driver Managers as a subject matter expert regarding securement and cargo, equipment, driving techniques etc.

    + Coach Drivers based upon risk modelling programs.

    + Perform various clerical/office related tasks to support the needs of the department.

    + Understands and consistently performs in accordance with ATS Mission, Vision, and Values.

    + Support ATS’ culture by aligning actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions in accordance with the Company’s values as set forth in our All-Employee Competencies.

    + Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed and infrequent travel may be required.

    + Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Compensation & Benefits • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance. • Anderson Trucking Service is committed to supporting our employees with a comprehensive benefits package.
