From your PASSION to ours
The Workers compensation Healthcare specialist will ensure timely processing of workers’ compensation claims; evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation. Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
• Evaluate accident reports, review medical reports, witness statements, department investigation results and other documentation. Compiles facts and data regarding accident reports and filed cases.
• Review accident reports to identify patterns of injury and to determine whether unsafe conditions contributed to the accident; advise departments of trends in injuries and proper safety procedures that may result in reduction of injuries.
• Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials that will aid in reducing accidents and improve safety.
• Develop or maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, etc.
• Schedule and ensure completion of annual hearing testing in compliance with Site’s Hearing Conservation Program.
• Coordinate right-to-know programs regarding hazardous chemicals or other substances.
• Conduct safety training or other educational programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
• May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education
• High School Diploma
• Degree or higher education certificate/license in related field preferred
Experience
• Minimum 2 years working in a health-related occupation comprising of either first aid triage, worker’s compensation management or physical therapy and ergonomics
Specialized Knowledge
• Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act and any other applicable state/federal statutes and regulations.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, body systems and/or impairments and their disabling effects.
• Good judgement in interpreting medical facts presented by a physician and applying these facts in determining an individual’s capacity to return to full duty, modified duty.
• Computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of principles of training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurements of training effects
• Intermediate Ergonomics
• Intermediate First aid
• Patient Assessment
Skills / Abilities
• Ability to obtain facts that ensure that claims information is complete and accurate.
• Ability to read, assimilate and recall with marked proficiency facts, figures and description, and to search for and obtain information.
• Ability to actively listen to others, understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriate.
• Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Coordinating, facilitating, managing, and training of others
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating documents, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to teach and implement safety procedures.
• Ability to be available on call during the evenings and weekend (via phone).
Professional Certifications
• Occupational Hearing Conservationist or ability to obtain within 1 year
• CPR/First Aid/AED + Bloodborne Pathogen Trainer or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Certified Idaho Workers’ Compensation Specialist or ability to obtain within 1 year
• HAZWOPER 24 Hour or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist
• OSHA 30 hour Preferred
