About the role
The Software Engineer (Infrastructure), Platform will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the robust, scalable, and secure foundational infrastructure that supports the entire Tapestry Platform. This role requires deep expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps for distributed systems.
How you’ll make 10x impact:
+ Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud, designing and implementing solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tooling such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and Helm.
+ Provision and manage cloud resources in a cost-efficient manner, including virtual machines (VMs), containers, and storage across major cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform.
+ Automate infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment, and configuration management processes to reduce manual tasks, minimize errors, and accelerate development cycles.
+ Ensure robust system security by implementing secure configurations, encryption, access controls, and regularly applying security patches to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
+ Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance using observability tools to track reliability, security, and scalability—providing essential data for troubleshooting and proactive resolution.
+ Debug production issues across services at multiple levels of the stack, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in live environments.
What you should have:
+ Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5+ years of experience in backend programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms (especially Google Cloud Platform) and their core services.
+ Expertise in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) for managing scalable applications.
+ Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Pulumi, and Helm.
+ Proficiency with CI/CD systems and workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).
+ Strong understanding and implementation of infrastructure security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security.
+ Experience writing automated tests for infrastructure components to ensure reliability and prevent regressions.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
It’d be great if you had:
+ 2+ years of experience delivering large-scale transformation projects, particularly migrating legacy systems to modern cloud-native architectures.
+ A track record of delivering scalable solutions to complex software challenges.
+ Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
