As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking sector, you will be an integral member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your role will involve implementing critical technology solutions across various technical domains to support the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

+ Design and develop scalable, reliable software solutions using modern programming languages and platforms, ensuring secure, high-quality production code.

+ Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met through software code development.

+ Support user issues by understanding end-to-end application design architecture and providing effective solutions.

+ Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

+ Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.

+ Proficient in programming languages like Java or Python, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, and database querying languages.

+ Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

+ Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code using modern programming languages and database querying languages.

+ Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

+ Solid grasp of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

+ Exposure to cloud technologies, system design and deployment strategies.

+ APIs-first approach with experience in microservices architecture.

+ Knowledge of containerization technologies like Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Software engineer who is passionate about integrating SRE principles into their work.

+ Experience with observability tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, and ITRS Geneos.

+ Experience with technology lifecycle management.

+ Experience using AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, to enhance coding efficiency.
