This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) responsible for performing some clinical related and administrative functions in support of two Beaver County Children and Youth Services funded Programs in the program office in Beaver County, PA. All referrals for these two clinical programs come from the Beaver County Children and Youth Services and the Juvenile Services Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County. One of the programs provides individual, family, and parent management treatment in an outpatient multidisciplinary program that targets children/youth with mental health issues and Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSBs) and their families in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. This program provides treatment services for these three populations: 1) children/youth have engaged in sexually inappropriate behaviors with intrafamilial victims, 2) children/youth who have engaged in sexually inappropriate behaviors with extrafamilial victims, and 3) children/youth who display self-focused and exhibitionistic problematic sexual behaviors. The second clinical program provides individual, family, and parent management treatment to youth aged 10- 20 years old, and their families, who remain in the community following their Adjudication or Consent Decree for engaging in sexually abusive behaviors.
The Research Associate (RA) will assist the clinician with intake and discharge assessments with the families referred to these programs in the Beaver County program office and also via telehealth. The Research Associate will assist the family's complete assessment self-report measures from a variety of data sources (e.g., youth, parents, teachers, referral sources, other collateral sources) utilizing both tablet computers and paper- and-pencil questionnaires. The Research Associate will maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability of 3 afternoons and evenings, in order to meet the needs of the families and programs’ needs. This Research Associate will assist the clinician with the fire safety/science/prevention education sessions when applicable for a case.
Responsibilities:
+ To assist in the preparation and administration/completion of clinical intake and discharge assessments designed to address the clinical mission of the programs.
+ To complete discharge interviews with families.
+ To participate in clinical sessions with children/juveniles and their families as requested by the clinician or Program Director.
+ To co-facilitate, with a clinician the fire safety/science/prevention education sessions with each family referred to the program.
+ To attend the Epic and EpicCare Trainings. To assist with the Check-in of clients in EpicCare when they arrive to the sessions.
+ To assist and greet clients and families when they come for appointments.
+ To assist in coordinating and organizing assessment packets and treatment materials/procedures such as preparation and maintenance of assessment packets, clinical notes, working charts, and client treatment binders.
+ To format and prepare documents for clinicians and other staff including but not limited to worksheets related to sessions, court letters, as well as summaries of the intake assessment results and discharge reports.
+ To create and update assessment forms, clinical orientation documents, clinical intake/discharge packets, and program PR materials in Adobe Acrobat.
+ To provide, as necessary and/or indicated, basic administrative support and liaison with others (program staff, WPH clinics, community agencies/partners). This includes public relations efforts and efforts to procure needed resources, helping to organize all meetings, and raising system or collaboration issues.
+ To maintain knowledge of all study procedures, and changes/revisions to written procedures, in order to communicate these changes and to answer questions accordingly.
+ To attend the weekly team meetings for the SAFE and PFE Programs and prepare materials for such meetings (i.e.; agendas, case summaries, literature presentations).
+ To summarize the referral information for all cases and present these summaries during the SAFE and PFE weekly treatment team meetings.
+ To monitor and ensure all case data has been entered, verified, checked, and stored accurately and consistently in a timely fashion.
+ To use technologies and programs (spreadsheets, Telehealth, etc.) to support documentation, coordination, and assessment completion. This includes the management of clinician schedules and patient charts within the EpicCare Electronic Medical Record.
+ To assist the Program Director, and treatment clinicians with scanning, copying, printing, filing, and mailing of documents.
+ To work cooperatively/constructively with the full treatment team at the SAFE, PFE Programs and program staff/supervisor at Beaver County Children and Youth Service and the Juvenile Services Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County in order to enrich the environment, enhance treatment procedures and all related program operations.
+ To attend weekly supervision meetings/trainings with the Program Director.
+ To assist clinicians with appointment reminders and session preparation (e.g., referral form completion, client timeline creation/medical record review).
+ To complete literature reviews as well as attend and summarize webinars/conferences, presentations, etc.
+ To complete a monthly inventory of office supplies and treatment materials, and place orders as needed.
+ To perform other related responsibilities as required in order to maintain smooth organization and flow of all programs (e.g., coordinating intern schedules, tracking due dates, etc).
+ Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology or related research field or current enrollment in a related Bachelor's Degree program with direct experience in a research environment required.
+ Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
+ Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
+ Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
