About the role
Responsible for being the liaison between a business unit and Corporate Finance for all accounting-related activities. This includes, but are not limited to, ICFR documentation and testing, account reconciliations, JVs, and Workday assistance. Provides SME assistance on projects where accounting is a key component.
Key Accountabilities:
Accounting:
+ Provide accounting guidance to operations team to ensure accounting rules are followed and that the reported financials are accurate.
+ Become a SME on Workday and assist operations team members in doing JV’s and other Workday related items to ensure accuracy.
+ Account reconciliations
+ Assist staff to clear out-of-balance accounts, including write-offs
+ Work with staff to ensure they understand the reconciliation process
+ Assist with account certifications
+ Stop Loss Accounting
+ Manage the Stop Loss Accounting process for the business
+ Ensure Workday GL entries are correct and reconcile to expected account balances.
+ Work with business unit ops and Corp Finance for banking related activities, such as Wire Transfers, ACH, and NSF’s
+ Resolve issues with Treasury when cash is out of balance
+ Complete quarterly variance analysis.
+ Learn and understand the business unit operations and business model.
+ Identify efficiencies/automations that could reduce costs within the accounting functions. Work with BPE to ensure efficient processes are followed and provide insight into automation opportunities that will give the business unit savings while increasing accuracy.
ICFR Controls:
+ Review control items tied to accounting and check test results quarterly to ensure the processes are being followed.
+ Work with SBB Finance to determine if any new controls need to be implemented or existing controls need to be removed.
Assist/solution/train finance related items for employees including setting up new vendors, submitting invoices, creating journals, etc.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
+ 4+ years in operational accounting role
+ Accounting Degree
+ Account Reconciliation Experience
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Strong Excel skills
+ Strong Communication skills (both verbal and e-mail)
Preferred:
+ CPA
+ Knowledge of Workday
+ Aptitude to learn business ops systems
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$69,776.00 - $100,788.00 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus. We understand that compensation is an important factor when considering a new opportunity, and we strive to provide a competitive salary within the market.
