    Job Description

    Responsible for ensuring production goals are met, high quality products are produced, inventory levels are actively managed, equipment is serviced and maintained as required to ensure optimal uptime, and accurate documentation is maintained in a safe and effective manner. Responsible to serve as the shift start up facilitator, handle resource and product scheduling, assure associates are adequately trained, assist in continuous improvement efforts and provide direction for production associates. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    + Responsible for attaining weekly production goals by supporting the daily schedule sequence and allocating the appropriate resources. Manages and escalates exceptions as appropriate.

    + Maintains current technical knowledge base for all manufacturing processes.

    + Serves as the shift leader for execution of the Lean Daily Management System (LDMS), driving improvements on a daily basis as part of standard work processes, participating in improvement projects, and implementing the output from improvement projects.

    + Forms strong working relationships with other departments (Planning, Shipping, Quality, Facilities, Product Support and Engineering) to enable effective daily operations with minimal input or intervention from higher-level management.

    + Directs daily work for the work team.

    + Ensures all manufacturing documentation/reconciliation is completed as required for cGMP.

    + Enable the development and training of associates by responding to requests and department needs.

    + Ensure all production-related transaction processing is performed in an accurate and timely manner

    + Maintain responsibility over production inventories in their areas

    + Proactively work to anticipate problems before they impact production.

    + Provide input to performance appraisals and performance improvement/corrective action plans.

    + Champion process improvements and ensure that changes associated with Continuous Improvement (CI)/5S activities are implemented consistently in their area.

    + Operates independently on a daily basis, requiring continual interactions with area Planners/Buyers and Packaging Operators, Machine Operators, Line Leads and Maintenance personnel across manufacturing operations site wide.

    + Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum Education/Experience:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Two years experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferably medical device manufacturing).

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills or Abilities (KSA's):

    + Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills, quality systems knowledge, coaching skills, managing change, able to work with limited direction and continuous improvement skills.

    + SAP proficiency preferred.
