Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of engineering, maintenance, security, construction, and safety departments. Responsible for the areas of building systems, grounds, equipment operations, quality assurance, preventive maintenance, electrical safety, work orders, and purchases. Responsible for the functions and operations of the Environment of Care, Emergency Preparedness, among other committees pertaining to reporting responsibilities. Directs and oversees facility Plant Operations, Engineering, Emergency Management, Environment of Care/Committee, Life Safety, construction projects, Security, sitters, PBX. Activities performed and documented in accordance with The Joint Commission requirements, federal, state and local codes and legislation. Responsible for overall conduct of personnel. Available to respond 24/7 for emergencies or take personnel calls when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ You will oversee and monitor all programs and activities in the functional areas of construction, safety-Environment of Care, emergency preparedness, engineering-maintenance, security services among others for all facilities.
+ You will oversee and monitor facility construction-renovation projects.
+ You will establish and ensure implementation of facilities goals, objectives and plans for responsible services.
+ You will plan, organize, manage and control Engineering Department.
+ You will chair Facility Environment of Care Committee and Emergency Management to ensure that all applicable standards met.
+ You will be responsible for facility Safety Program and ADA
+ You will be responsible for facility preventive maintenance program
+ You will establish, update, maintain engineering, environment of care, life safety policies and procedures
+ You will inspect completed installations and repairs for conformance with specifications and safety standards.
+ You will conduct safety and fire alarm drills and training classes as required including:
+ Teaches and explains operation and function of hospital systems.
+ Air-conditioning, heating, vacuum, plumbing, emergency power, and fire alarm systems.
+ Instructs on component adjustments, calibration and troubleshooting of the above systems
+ You will read and interpret blueprints and specifications for installation and maintenance of equipment and apparatus.
+ You will schedule work of assigned personnel to ensure full coverage (24 hours/day/7 days/week) across all sites of service.
+ You will plan daily activities of all assigned personnel. Inspects jobs completed for quality of work.
+ You will ensure all emergency systems (fire alarms, emergency power, etc.) are functional and operate properly.
+ You will perform individually or as member of groups assigned during emergencies such as fires, snow removal or disasters among others.
+ You will purchase and inventory shop supplies, machinery, tools, material and equipment.
+ You will be responsible for overseeing personnel performing mandatory inspections to include Fire and Marshall Departments, Insurance Groups, etc.
+ You will communicate, cooperate and perform related duties with hospital staff in a courteous, and efficient manner to achieve overall hospital goals and objectives.
+ You will respond to requests from patients, physicians and visitors in a courteous, and efficient manner. Always demonstrate positive interpersonal skills.
+ You will promote positive customer service with internal and external customers.
+ You will formulate sound fiscal operation including timely and accurate compilation, analysis, and development annual budget and management of the budget.
+ You will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of an effective quality improvement program.
+ You will direct management of the Human Resources function including, position management, discipline, and evaluations.
+ You will develop, review, monitor and evaluate policies and procedures, protocols and standards of care related to the department.
+ You will maintain and comply with all regulatory standards and accrediting bodies to include The Joint Commission.
+ You will plan implement and evaluate programs for the development of the product line including public relations and community programs.
+ You will support the goals, mission and values of Del Sol Medical Center.
+ You will be responsible for twenty- four-hour coverage and problem resolution to the services provided.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Minimum of five years of leadership experience preferred in engineering management or healthcare setting.
+ Preferred- Bachelors/ Associates degree in related field with additional equivalent experience
+ Construction and safety trained or certified preferred.
+ Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager, preferred
+ Five years’ experience in leadership or engineering management preferred.
