Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary

The Application Developer will lead and consult on development efforts within the Accelerated Technologies team for a suite of products built on the Patient Insyte data product, including Clinical Summary, Record Viewer, and/or Payer Viewer, its associated features, and other custom applications that support HCA’s clinical and revenue cycle objectives.

The developer will be responsible for coordinating work with multiple vendor development resources and for ensuring consistency, scalability, and interoperability, as required for each application. The developer should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities.

Major Responsibilities: Technical:

• Understand business/technical requirements and how they translate to new application features

• Design, develop and test internal web applications and automations

• Oversee the backend and frontend development of multiple complex applications by internal and vendor developers

• Work independently completing simple, moderate and complex programming tasks, as well as leading development efforts

• Identify, develop and optimize process improvements to support Agile development and CI/CD

• Utilize version control tools, such as, GitHub, and ensure change management processes are followed by all development resources

Communications/Documentation:

Responsible for communicating via multiple media, including but not limited to conference calls, in person participation and via written documentation across audiences with varying levels of technical expertise

• Create and maintain technical specifications, technical documentation, application architecture documentation and support documentation

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required with 7+ years of experience in front end (UI) and/or back end development required

Required: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors:

• Qualified candidate will have 7-10 years relevant work experience in IT environment required

• Experience with Windows Server 2019, 2022 required

• Prompt engineering (LLM, Generative AI) preferred

• HTML/CSS, Python, React, SQL, Postgres, BigQuery or Big Data, Google Cloud (GCP) preferred. Document management skills and competency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of Active Directory and access management

• Software deployment, server maintenance and problem resolution experience

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a team

• Demonstrated experience in establishing and strengthening relationships

• Detail oriented and analytical with good organization skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks simultaneously and adapt to a rapidly changing environment

• Strong problem and issue resolution skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization

• Highly motivated and be able to work on an independent project with little supervision

• Experience creating quality deliverables

• Flexible and adaptable to meet changing priorities.
