    The Scripps Health ICU Transition Program creates an environment whereby experienced nurses can be transformed into safe and competent intensive care clinicians. The program fosters growth and learning through classroom lecture and testing, hands-on lab and simulation exercises, literature review and research assignments, as well as precepted and mentored clinical experiences. The classroom academic portion of the program reviews in depth each physiologic system including pulmonary, cardiovascular/hemodynamics, neuroscience, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and endocrine systems. At the end of this program, the bedside nurse, as a member of the ICU clinical team, will be able to provide safe, evidence-based, and integrated care to our most critically ill and injured patients.

    *Program: September 22, 2025 - December 13, 2025*

    *Application Period: May 18, 2025 - May 24, 2025*

    *Interview Period: June 9, 2025 - July 3, 2025

    *Selected Candidates:*

    * All new hires/rehires must be able to start employment on August 25, 2025

    * Must be willing to work night shift after the completion of the program

    * Must be available to complete the entire program - class attendance is mandatory

    * No paid time off (PTO) allowed during the program

    *Program Eligibility Requirements & Basic Qualifications:*

    * 1 year or more of RN experienceor internal RN who will be completing the Scripps RN New Grad Residency Program prior to the ICU Transition Program start date

    * Current California RN license

    * BLS for Health Care Provider & ACLS both from the American Heart Association required by start date

    * Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English

    * Excellent interpersonal skills

    *Preferred Qualifications:*

    * BSN preferred

    * Acute care/hospital experience
