The Immunology and Cardiovascular Thematic Research Center (ICV TRC) at BMS is one of the fundamental Research units delivering therapeutics to patients. Our mission is to create transformative medicines of tomorrow based on the cutting-edge science of today. We leverage BMS's internal invention engine that includes industry-leading expertise in small molecule chemistry, protein biotherapeutics, cell therapy, protein degradation, nucleic acids, and other therapeutic modalities.
Position Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated in vivo scientist with ex vivo and in vitro expertise in immunology, inflammation, and autoimmune diseases to join our Immunology & Inflammation Discovery Biology group in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate must have hands on expertise in executing on rodent models of disease from in vivo dosing and ex vivo disease end-point analysis. This individual will interact seamlessly with other scientists and functional groups within a drug discovery team to formulate and implement the in vivo strategy for the programs in the Immunoscience Portfolio. The focus of this position will be the in vivo evaluation of novel therapeutic agents that will support these drug discovery efforts, additional responsibilities include the identification and validation of novel disease and target specific biomarkers, and the development of new pharmacodynamic/disease models and end-points for autoimmune indications. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to prepare, review and deliver scientific presentations to internal and external stakeholders; interact with senior management and key opinion leaders. This is a 100% onsite based position.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 5+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Or
+ Master's Degree
+ 3+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Or
+ Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences
+ No experience necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD with knowledge of the Immunology/Inflammation therapeutic area with a strong in vivo background is essential. The position will require strong scientific background, collaborative style and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
+ Research experience in inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, is strongly preferred.
+ Extensive hands-on experience in in vivo animal techniques, particularly in rodents, is strongly preferred.
+ Experience executing ex vivo immune assays - flow cytometry or luminex is strongly preferred.
+ Experience with in vitro assays using mouse and human immune cells is desirable
+ The successful candidate will have outstanding experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills.
+ Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills are required.
+ Ability to identify scientific and technical problems as well as potential solutions.
+ Ability to demonstrate effectiveness and growth in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
