    Role Overview

     

    We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our Finishing team in Rochester, NY.

     

    This Mechanical Technician position will work both independently and with other members of our Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams to provide various types of support for equipment in our Finishing manufacturing areas.

    As a Mechanical Technician, you will have the following responsibilities:

    • Provide multi-discipline capability to troubleshoot equipment to solve complex issues

    • Assist with engineering projects

    • Work with outside suppliers as needed

    • Able to provide detailed written documentation as appropriate for assignments

    • Work with other members of the Finishing team to resolve equipment issues

    • Able to communicate clearly with other team members

    • Able to utilize hand tools as well as maintenance shop equipment to perform tasks as needed

    • Able to lead meetings, present findings as necessary

    • Problem solving and analytical skills

    • Maintain a safe work environment

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Highly involved and motivated with a high level of mechanical / some electrical troubleshooting skills

    • Ability to change focus based on priorities

    • Able to read and interpret mechanical/ some electrical machine drawings

    • Significant walking

    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

    • Must have ability to work individually and with a team as needed

    • Good team player – willing to be flexible and work with maintenance trades as needed

    • Excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all work

    • Must be able to work in dark-room conditions if needed

    • Able to work occasional overtime

    • Able to work in a standing position for extended periods

    • Wear personal protective equipment as required

    • Good communication skills for daily interaction with maintenance and operations staff

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.

     

    Associates degree or equivalent education and or 5 years’ experience as a mechanical technician
