A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Controller at MKS, you will partner with our System Business in Irvine to drive financial and strategic performance, support sound decision-making, and lead a high-performing local finance team. As a core member of the management team, you’ll provide financial insights that shape business outcomes and contribute to all aspects of P&L management. In this role, you will report to the Director of Finance for the Systems Business.
You Will Make an Impact By:
+ Lead and develop the local Finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth.
+ Partner closely with the General Manager to drive business performance, align financial strategy with operational goals, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
+ Serve as a financial advisor to departmental leaders, providing proactive consultation, education, and interpretation of complex financial and operational matters to support data-driven decision-making.
+ Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.
+ Analyze financial performance, including variances to forecast and budget, and provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
+ Develop and maintain short- and long-term financial forecasts, including income statements and other key financial metrics, to support business planning and resource allocation.
+ Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and local statutory requirements, maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and safeguarding company assets.
+ Implement and monitor internal controls in alignment with corporate policies to mitigate risk and ensure operational and financial compliance.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Business Management, and Corporate Finance to support initiatives, manage projects, and drive process improvements.
+ Identify and implement best practices across the global finance organization, including enhancements to financial modeling, reporting processes, and analytical tools.
+ Support strategic initiatives and business transformation efforts, contributing financial expertise to help shape and execute long-term business objectives.
Skills You Bring:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
+ 10+ years of experience in a similar financial leadership role.
+ Strong background in FP&A and cost accounting.
+ Results-driven go-getter with excellent problem-solving and sound business decision-making skills.
+ Proven ability to lead and inspire teams toward shared goals.
+ Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
+ Fast learner with strong analytical skills and a focus on execution and follow-through.
+ Excellent emotional intelligence with superior interpersonal, listening, and communication skills along with a strong business acumen and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
+ Ability to balance speed and accuracy while collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to meet and exceed deliverables.
+ Proficiency in MS Office and SAP; experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is a plus.

This position is Hybrid and must be within commutable distance to our location in Irvine, CA.
Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $155k - $180k per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
