Job Description
As a valued colleague on our team, you will provide expert advice on examining and analyzing accounting and operational records; determine financial status, efficiency, and effectiveness of operating and reporting procedures.
*THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE*
The Multifamily - Internal Audit - Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
* Apply technical knowledge and expertise, including credit risk, commercial mortgage and fraud risk knowledge to conduct internal audits and reviews across Fannie Mae’s Multifamily division.
* Assist with audit planning and drafting initial audit scope. Document details of planning andwalkthroughmeetings. Assist in identifying controls to mitigate potential risk factors within assigned process/areas. Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk-based audit plans.
* Develop, document and execute audit test steps in partnership with more senior team members.
* Assist in evaluating controls and in identifying control gaps. Conduct substantive testing, such as tests of detailed activities and transactions or analytical review tests.
* Document and maintain sufficient supporting information (such as flowcharts of end-to-end business processes) and facilitate the presentation of findings and conclusions in accordance with work paper standards. Identify and discuss audit findings withauditteam and document exceptions. Assist with drafting audit reports and other key deliverables.
* Assist in coaching more junior team members on projects to help with their development
*THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM*
Minimum Required Experiences
* 2 years
Desired Experiences
* Bachelor degree or equivalent
* CIA, CPA, CISA certification preferredor intheprocessesof obtaining.
* Experience in risk,audit or control roles and/or public accounting
* Knowledge of credit risk management, commercial real estate and fraud risk
* Knowledge of mortgage industry and relevant financial products
* Knowledge of the audit life cycle,including planning,designassessment,operating effectiveness testing, reporting,andissue monitoring.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must understand how businesses operate in general; must be able to learn new methods and technologies easily.

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications. This position is eligible to participate in a Fannie Mae incentive program (subject to the terms of the program).
