The role you’ll contribute:
With limited to direct oversight, the Technician is responsible for supporting specific departments for all supply/materials functions within a defined scope as a primary focus. Works collaboratively with but not limited to - MIS, Engineering, Laboratory, Central Supply, Biomed, Materials Leadership, Nursing and facility leadership to ensure that all inventory and supplies are maintained and readily available to provide exceptional and safe patient care.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
+ Ensures the unit and/or department have the needed supplies and equipment by maintaining unit par levels through the use of a periodic inventory management process.
+ Counts inventory levels and enters these counts into a hand-held device or procures inventory by creating requisitions for necessary supplies. Follows up on purchase orders, tracks movement of supplies and documents any return or receipt of supplies through the appropriate inventory system as required. Manages data input for inventory control in the information system.
+ Assesses and identifies areas for process improvement as it relates to supply management. Works with the ED Director, Materials Management and/or a multidisciplinary team to establish action plans based upon data collection; then acts upon plans to achieve the necessary outcome.
+ Collaborates with Materials Management and Campus ED Leadership to maintain a list of standardized equipment with their end-of-life dates. Develops and maintains an applicable replacement schedule.
