POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Quality Engineer will participate in the execution of the Airtech’s quality management processes and contribute to the continued improvement of the quality management system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Supplier Quality Management:

+ Validate material specifications for purchased goods to be complete and accurate, establish and review material control plans at the supplier and assure that provided materials conform to specifications

+ Validate that received material conforms to Airtech specifications through a material-release process utilizing targeted measurement sampling and visual inspections.

+ Audit suppliers for conformance to their quality management system, the Airtech quality agreement and (where applicable) Coordinate regular quality performance reviews with key suppliers

+ Establish cross-calibration for measurement systems between supplier and Airtech

+ Issue supplier corrective action requests and non-conforming material requests as needed

2. Process Quality Management:

+ Perform internal process audits according to Airtech’s internal audit plan

+ Manage external calibration of measurement tooling

+ Facilitate material review board process and decisions

+ Issue corrective action request and track their completion

+ Support engineering with the assessment of process/product risk and the implementation of control plans

+ Review/approve product and process change control documentation and specifications

3. Product Quality Management

+ Support product design engineering, new-product development and new-product-introduction by ensuring alignment between product requirements and material specifications

+ Perform internal product audits according to Airtech’s internal audit plan

+ Facilitate problem solving in response to customer complaints, test failures and excursions using structured problem solving techniques like 8D or DMAIC, 5-WHY etc.

4. Customer Relationship Management

+ Receive and triage customer returns through a structured RMA process using fault validation and 8D problem solving; provide updates to customer at designated readout points.

+ Facilitate customer visitations and audits by coordinating pre-audit activities and by hosting the customer

5. Reporting and Improvement

+ Participate in daily GEMBA walks and maintain a Quality GEMBA board

+ Provide regular reports on routine quality processes, improvement projects and problem solving

+ Identify opportunities to enhance the quality management system and independently drive improvement

6. Quality Certification

+ Support ISO9001 certification and surveillance audits by leading pre-audit activities and hosting the audit

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

+ Deep knowledge of common quality management terminology, methods and tools

+ Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices and defect management processes

+ Working experience with the ISO 9001 quality management system

+ Ability to work and perform in a team environment and effective interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated high attention to detail

+ Excellent analytical decision making and problem-solving skills

+ Proven ability to resolve issues and participate in process improvement activities

+ Excellent written and verbal skills

+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions

+ Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

EDUCATION and/or** **EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required.

+ 5-8 years of related work experience

+ Experience with Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, measuring equipment, lean manufacturing preferred.

+ Prior experience with ISO 9001

+ Certifications as ISO9001 / ISO9100 / IATF / ISO13485 auditor preferred.
