    Student Career Program Manager- Cooperman Business Center, Division of Student Affairs

    POSITION DETAILS

    The Student Career Program Manager will report to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Career Program Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

     

    + Manage all activities led by the Cooperman Business Center

    + Provide individual and group career advising to students interested in a wide range of business and management careers, helping them explore options, learn how to network, find internships, and successfully make the transition from college to career

    + Facilitate business career-focused student events throughout the year

    + Recruit, manage, and support an annual cohort of student Cooperman Business Fellows

    + Develop and maintain employer partnerships that directly lead to the hiring of Cooperman students for internships and post-graduate employment

    + Work in close coordination with the Director of the Certificate in Business Studies

    + Advise and support five student business clubs

    + Design and manage annual budget

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Experience coaching college students on career readiness, whether formally or informally

    + Experience developing and maintaining industry and employer partnerships with the goal of creating direct hiring pipelines for students

    + Familiarity with industry hiring perspectives and recruiting/screening processes

    + Experience managing student programming within a higher education setting

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Develops and manages career development programs and services in a College of Unit and assumes a leadership role in the design and delivery of creative approaches to career education and planning.

     

    - Assists in unit planning, such as setting goals and objectives, and monitors status of progress toward meeting goals

     

    - Designs and produces outcomes assessment reports; reviews outcomes and feedback and recommends strategies to expand and improve services.

     

    - Directs a portfolio of targeted career programs, such as mentoring, internship, and alumni programs

     

    - Manages one or more aspects of career office operations, such as on-campus recruiting

     

    - Evaluates new technologies, assessment materials, and other career tools, makes recommendations, and acquires/implements them

     

    - May counsel a limited number of students

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Salary commensurate with education and experience: $93,491-$104,057

    CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
