    The Children's Developmental Disabilities (DD) Program is seeking a detail-orientedTechnical Records Specialist 1to join our administrative support team. The Children's DD Program provides case management and authorizes Family Directed Services for children birth to 21 with developmental disabilities. Come help us support Idaho families who are looking for additional supports and services for their children.

     

    T echnical Records Specialist 1's will support our Children's DD Program through referral management, intake and discharge processes, contract monitoring support, database management, and processing authorization and notices for a variety of programs.

     

    Our Children's DD Team enjoys: -Sharing knowledge while learning with a variety of team members and providers from different professional backgrounds -Protecting and making a difference for Idaho’s vulnerable populations -Working in a positive environment and culture -Embracing lifelong learning and change.

     

    This is a statewide position and will report to their nearest DHW location.

     

    This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

     

    The successful applicant will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    + Navigating multiple databases and computerized records systems to identify and correct errors, develop reports, and update and retrieve information.

    + Providing excellent customer service on the phone and in-person to internal and external clients.

    + Working with sensitive or restricted data -Basic understanding of Medicaid and DHW programs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.

    + Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.

    + Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. These complex decisions could have affected the social or economic well-being of others or would result in a service or action being denied. Typically gained by one year of work experience.

    + Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by six months of work experience.

     

    Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

     

    + Using a variety of computer programs to include Microsoft Suite and Adobe PDF. Typically gained by a year of experience in working with Microsoft Office to include creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word, creating and editing data in Excel, and creating and editing documents in Adobe PDF.

    + Typing at least 40WPM.

    + Fluency in speaking, writing and reading in English.
