Description

Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join a plaintiff's personal injury law firm in Naperville, Illinois. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys by managing their dockets, preparing legal documents, and handling administrative tasks. This position offers an opportunity to engage with clients, witnesses, and other parties in a collaborative and efficient environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage attorneys’ dockets and ensure timely handling of case deadlines.

• Draft, review, and prepare legal documents with precision and attention to detail.

• Coordinate the collection and organization of medical records and bills.

• File court documents electronically and ensure compliance with filing requirements.

• Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and external parties to gather and provide necessary information.

• Negotiate and resolve liens and subrogation interests to facilitate case settlements.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records using case management software.

• Support attorneys with administrative tasks, including billing and calendar management.

• Utilize tools such as Aderant and Adobe Acrobat for document preparation and tracking.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth case progressio

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably in a plaintiff's personal injury firm.

• Proficiency in case management software, with experience in Smokeball being a plus.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and external parties.

• Familiarity with tools such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and other legal software.

• Knowledge of court filing procedures and legal document preparation.

• Ability to negotiate liens and subrogation interests effectively.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
