Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description The primary function of the Accounting Manager is to prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the CFO and to assist in execution of internal controls and policies. This position is full-time in the York and no remote work is available.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting.
• Compile and prepare necessary analysis and documentation for auditors.
• Knowledge and familiarity in researching complex accounting issues.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and post general journal entries.
• Prepare all general journal entries for all asset purchases and disposals.
• Research Sales and Use Tax laws and prepare monthly tax returns
• Responsible for ITFA returns and IRP renewals for ME and NH.
• Research law changes, set up system changes and prepare 1099 forms.
• Responsible for accounting for all leases.
• Maintain lease and rent schedules and update recurring entries.
• Track insurance endorsements for asset additions and disposals.
• Maintain all licenses and permits and stay current on laws that impact the business and require additional licensing.
• Review all monthly staff expense reports for policy compliance and update GL codes for AP staff.
• Review all AP batches for GL Coding for non-inventory vendors.
• Prepare various governmental reporting such energy benchmarking, abandoned property,
• Assist accounting staff after proficient completion of training on all accounting modules.
• Other tasks as assigned by the CFO
Qualifications:
• Candidate must have at least 7+ years of accounting and financial operations management with increasing levels of responsibility handling all balance sheet activity.
• Advanced Excel skills and very tech savvy.
• Strong preference for Epicor Eagle for retail or similar system experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a team player and willing to assist in multiple areas as necessary. Ability to multitask, prioritize and effectively communicate with all staff levels.
• Dependable and extremely organized.
