Description
Robert Half is seeking as a New Jersey barred Associate Attorney – Education Law, where you'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic legal practice while supporting education law matters. Both entry-level and experienced attorneys are encouraged to apply.
Associate Attorney – Education Law
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $40-$55 per hour
Hours: Monday-Friday, EST business hours
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct legal research to support client matters, including litigation and general counsel issues.
+ Draft legal documents such as memos, correspondence, contracts, policies, motions, and briefs.
+ Assist in litigation and administrative proceedings, including discovery and hearing preparation.
+ Provide support in compliance, governance, and personnel/student matters for public school clients.
+ Participate in board meetings, IEP meetings, mediations, and administrative hearings under mentorship.
+ Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, legal analysis, and planning.
+ Monitor legal deadlines and assist with procedural compliance.
+ Maintain organized case files while ensuring responsive client service.
Qualifications:

+ Active attorney license, in good standing in New Jersey.
+ A genuine interest in education law and a desire to make a difference in public education.
+ An active Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
+ Excellent communication and time management skills.
+ An eagerness to learn complex areas of administrative, constitutional, and employment law as applied to public education.
+ Commitment to professional growth and willingness to collaborate with mentors.
+ (Preferred) Exposure to education law, labor/employment law, or public sector work.
Requirements
• Must hold a valid license to practice law within the relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience in litigation, with exposure to education law preferred.
• Proven ability to prepare trial exhibits and witness lists with precision.
• Strong drafting skills, including motions and legal briefs.
• Familiarity with trial preparation processes and procedural deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work on-site as required during critical trial preparation phases.
